ninety-seven was founded in 2022 by a group of users tired with repeated attempts by tech companies and governments to limit access and control over your own computer. We are currently about 12 members strong and focus on developing communal systems to serve our own needs.
In order to protect our sovereignty, infrastructure and users, membership is an on an invite-only basis. Despite this, many of our services are publically acessible due to the goals set by their project lead.
How can I join?
ninety-seven does not take applications. You must be nominated by an existing member, and then voted in by a ⅔ majority of the board.
What determines a project's status as part of ninety-seven?
By design, ninety-seven has limited coercive power over its users projects. Our operators have near full control over their projects, ninety-seven simply provides infrastructure for co-development amongst our community.
